HVAC Controls Industry to See Great Growth by 2020

At SRP Controls, we know the importance of outfitting systems with the best controls to ensure top notch efficiency and safety.  Others are acknowledging the very same fact, and as the message spread, the controls industry is enjoying definite growth, which is expected to continue through the next several years.

One of the reasons for this projected growth can be found in developing countries, like China, where there are great concerns about the indoor air quality.  By implementing better controls, they hope to prevent increase in respiratory illnesses in the future.  Monitoring the temperature of the air entering and leaving the space, for instance, with a duct mounted temperature sensor, like the Ultra Electronics duct air sensor, can help to control humidity in that area.  That means reduced risk of mold growth, which is known to be a respiratory irritant.  Controls like this are expected to see much greater demand.  The HVAC controls market, in China alone, is on a path of projected growth of 8.5% in five years.

In the United States, the demand continues to surge, as well.  In this nation, though, the concern is not just air quality, but efficiency.  Again the predictions indicate that the industry will grow by more than 8% by 2020 in the US, as consumers seek to improve the performance of their HVAC systems.

It is reported that 40% of the electricity used in commercial buildings can be attributed to HVAC systems.  That is a lot of energy usage, and we are increasingly conscious of energy consumption.  It has a direct impact on our finances, of course, but also on the environment. Consumers are savvy now, and realize that helping the environment can also mean helping their own wallets.  They are seeking the affordable controls, knowing that the upfront expense will pay for itself, and ultimately save them a lot of money in the years that follow. So, controls that can reduce consumption are going to continue to be in high demand.
